FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

HOW SOON WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS? 

You should receive your photos within one (1) week of your photoshoot. Due to my busy schedule, I may not have the priority to edit as many images as I can during my free will. For this reason, I currently do not apply any add on fees for expedited or rush calls. 

 

HOW WILL I RECEIVE MY PHOTOS?

After your shoot, I will carefully edit the photos, and within a few days, you will have the option of selecting which photos to download, through a download link. The number of downloads are dependent on the session package you booked. Any additional downloads are available via a small fee.

 

DO YOU EDIT ALL MY PHOTOS? 

Not all of them. Generally, I will leave out any redundant shots (i.e. shots that look nearly identical to one another), as well as shots that are clearly blurred. Otherwise, my main goal is to minimize edits, such as color correction, any blemishes that you feel are unwanted (please notify me after the session if there are any features you want me to edit/remove), and exposure fixes.

 

DO YOU CHARGE A DEPOSIT? 

Yes. All photo sessions require a 50% non-refundable deposit to secure a date and photo session of your choice. 

 

CAN I PICK YOUR LOCATION?

For full session photoshoots, yes you may. If you are wanting to shoot in multiple areas, I would advise you choosing spots that are close or near one another, based on your session time. For instance, if you're booking a 1 hour session in Central Park, it is possible to combine different viewpoints in the same area (e.g. Grand Army Plaza + The Pond + Gapstow Bridge). I you want an extra hour, we can also pick 2 locations that are near close to each other (e.g. SoHo + Greenwich Village). We can discuss pre-session, and plan your desired route!

DO YOU TRAVEL OUTSIDE OF NYC?

Currently, no. But I have visions of traveling one day to areas in New Jersey and Connecticut. 

 

WILL I RECEIVE THE RAW OR UNEDITED PHOTOS? 

I do not offer the option of receiving raw or unedited photos.

 

WHAT IF I NEED TO CANCEL OR RESCHEDULE? WILL I RECEIVE A REFUND?

If you need to cancel or reschedule, your 50% non-refundable deposit will not be refunded (unless the shoot is canceled by the photographer) but may be applied toward a future session. Any payments made for the remaining balance will be refunded.

 

DO YOU SEND ME EVERY IMAGE?  

My intent is to send you the best images possible. I will immediately discard any blurred photos and photos that I feel are unflattering from the selection of photos you are given to choose from. After all, no one wants to have unflattering photos in their photo album. 

 

DO YOU SHOOT INDOORS?

Currently, I only rent studio spaces for seasonal mini sessions, such as Christmas and Valentine’s Minis. 

 

DO YOU SHOOT VIDEOGRAPHY?

At the moment, no. 

 

DO YOU GET PERMITS/PERMISSION?

Generally, I try to avoid areas that require a special permit or permission, mainly due to logistics reasons. If there is any non-public area you want to shoot, it may be necessary to inquire about a permit/permission. Permits are the sole responsibility of the client to obtain in the event that it is necessary to produce photos. 

 

CAN YOU HOLD A DATE FOR ME?

I only hold dates for clients that have paid their 50% non-refundable deposit. Once you make the non-refundable deposit, your date and time for your photo session have been secured.

 

HOW CAN GET INFORMATION ABOUT MINI-SESSIONS?

Mini Sessions are special seasonal short sessions, based on a set theme and location. Year round Mini Sessions may include Christmas Pajama Minis, Golden Sunset Minis, and Valentine’s Day Minis. Please check back with Lamont Smalls Photography on social media for updates and announcements.
